Hello, Eagle Family!

My name is Amber Beard, and it is both a privilege and an honor to serve as the principal of New Caney High School. 

I am a proud East Texas native and hold both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. With more than 20 years experience in education, I’ve had the honor of teaching in both Beaumont ISD and Humble ISD, where I honed my passion for nurturing the academic and personal growth of students. My journey as an educator has also allowed me to serve as a district curriculum coach for English language arts, assistant principal, and dean of instruction.  Each of these roles has helped shape my approach to leadership and educational excellence.

As principal, I am deeply committed to continuing to serve the students, staff, and families of this community. We strive to make learning not only relevant but also engaging for all of our students. At New Caney High School,  excellence is not just a goal, it’s a standard—one that we work tirelessly to uphold. 

Together, we will continue to cultivate an environment where growth is celebrated and achievement is within reach for all. I am excited for what the year ahead holds and look forward to collaborating with each of you as we work toward the success of every Eagle at New Caney High School.

My name is Misshunna Davis, and I serve as the dean of instruction at New Caney High School. I bring more than 16 years of experience in public education, including eight years in campus administration. Throughout my career, I have served as a classroom teacher, math specialist, district math coach, and instructional leader, which has fueled my passion for supporting both teachers and students through high-quality instruction and collaborative leadership.

As dean of instruction, I work closely with teachers, instructional coaches, and campus leaders to strengthen teaching and learning through professional development, instructional coaching, data analysis, and continuous improvement. I am committed to fostering a positive school culture where educators feel supported, students are challenged to reach their full potential, and families are valued partners in the educational process.

I believe that strong relationships, servant leadership, and a growth mindset are the foundation of a successful school community. My goal is to empower teachers to grow in their craft while ensuring every student has access to engaging, rigorous, and meaningful learning experiences. It is an honor to serve the students, staff, and families of New Caney High School, and I look forward to continuing our work together to help every Eagle succeed.

My name is Jamaal Hunnicutt, and I bring with me 19 years of dedicated service in education, eleven of those years as a classroom teacher and eight as an administrator. I began my teaching career in Channelview ISD, where I developed a deep appreciation for the power of meaningful relationships, structured learning environments, and student growth. I later transitioned into leadership roles in Humble ISD, Willis ISD, and Sanchez Charter School, where I continue to lead with integrity, empathy, and a steadfast belief in the potential of every student.

Originally from Amarillo, Texas, I earned my bachelor's degree in history from Eastern New Mexico University and went on to receive my master's degree in educational leadership from the University of Texas Permian Basin. These academic experiences, along with my years in the classroom and in school leadership, have shaped me into a committed lifelong learner and servant leader.

As an educator, I believe every student deserves a safe, challenging, and supportive environment in which they can thrive. I firmly stand by the belief that hard work and perseverance always prevail in life, a principle I not only model for students and staff but also strive to instill in the communities I serve. I am passionate about fostering a culture of excellence, where educators are empowered, families are engaged, and students are equipped for lifelong success.

Hello! My name is Oluwasegun Adebayo, and I am proud to serve as one of our assistant principals at NCHS.

I am the youngest of five children. I was born in Lagos, Nigeria and my uncle who raised me knew the value of hard work and the importance of education. He moved me and his children to the United States at the age of 14. My uncle dedicated his life to ensuring that all of us went to college and got an education to better our lives.

My past experience in education includes serving five years as a teacher and coach in Honolulu, Hawaii and 12 years as a middle school and high school special education co-teacher in Texas.

Hello!, I'm Nick Draper, and I'm excited to join the New Caney High School team as an assistant principal! My background includes four years of administrative experience in Klein ISD, as well as time as a band director in Waco, TX and Aldine ISD. I hold a bachelor's degree from Baylor University, a master's degree from the University of Missouri, and a principal certification from Lamar University. I'm passionate about celebrating student growth and achievement, and I look forward to building a positive, supportive environment where every student can SOAR. I can't wait to get to know our students and families and make this a great year at New Caney High School!

Hello Eagles! My name is Haidet Gonzalez and I am excited to be joining the New Caney High School family as an assistant principal. I am beginning my 15th year in education, with experience as a paraprofessional, classroom teacher, and multilingual instructional coach.

I earned my bachelor's degree in 4–8 ELAR and social studies, a master's degree in curriculum and instruction, and a master's degree in school leadership from Sam Houston State University—Eat 'Em Up Kats! The experiences I have gained throughout my career have reinforced my belief that supporting students, empowering educators, and partnering with families are the foundation of a successful school community. I am honored to serve the New Caney High School community and look forward to helping every Eagle reach their full potential.

Hello! My name is Andrew Kruger, and I am proud to be a part of the leadership team here at New Caney High School. Over my 19 years in education, 16 of which have been right here in New Caney ISD, I have had the privilege of serving as a campus administrator for seven years at both the elementary and middle school levels, four years as our district testing coordinator, and eight years as a math and science teacher and coach.

I graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and went on to earn my master’s degree from Lamar University.
