Dr. Joseph Genovese
Hey Eagles! My name is Joseph Genovese, and I am ecstatic about returning to my home as the Associate Principal of New Caney High School. I started my career here as a Science and Engineering teacher here before being promoted to being an Assistant Principal. Last year I was given an opportunity to learn more about middle school and specifically work with our incoming 9th grade class. Being back with Mr. Powell and working with the administrators and teachers that I have grown up professionally with is a dream come true.
I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, but grew up in Kingwood. I graduated from Louisiana State University with a bachelor’s degree in history. After beginning my work at NCHS, it was Mr. Powell who encouraged me to go back to school and I got my master’s from Lamar University in Education Administration in 2016. With the support of my family, I went back again and completed my Doctorate in Educational Leadership for Lamar University in 2023.
I have been married to my beautiful wife Ashley for the last eight years. We have a five-year-old son James and in August of 2024 will welcome our second son William into our lives. New Caney High School has been my home for over a decade. Let’s build a positive environment where students feel safe to grow into the person they want to become. If you need any assistance, please feel free to reach out. GO BIG BLUE!
Be better today than you were yesterday.
