Congratulations to Rachel Gonzales, a junior at New Caney High School, who was recently notified that she has been accepted into the summer Business Career Awareness Program (BCAP) offered to high achieving high school juniors the summer before their senior year.

New Caney JROTC Elects New Leadership
When senior JROTC members graduate, the responsibilities are passed down to a newly selected Battalion Leadership Team made up of three cadets: the Battalion Commander, Command Sergeant Major, and Executive Officer. New Caney’s 2012-2013 leadership team will be: C/LTC Dalton Slack, C/CSM Alyssa Morris, and C/MAJ Eric Rodgers.

New Caney Journalism Student Heads to State
Jessica Malloy, a New Caney High School junior was both district and regional champion in editorial writing. She will take part in the upcoming state tournament in Austin at the University of Texas. She is coached by Jim Becka. She hopes to major in journalism and is a writer and photographer for the school newspaper, the Wingspan

New Caney Seniors Visit Lone Star College - Kingwood
Students prepared to go to Coyote Camp by previously meeting with our Lone Star College advisor, Karin Goedjen, who helped the students with their online application to the college, take their college readiness tests, and apply for their FAFSA PIN.

The junior class is sponsoring the 3rd Annual Dodgeball Tournament on May 16. The tournament is double elimination and the last two teams standing will battle at the Pep Rally on Friday, May 18th for the opportunity to go against the administration/teacher team.

The New Caney High School newspaper won three major awards at the Texas ILPC competition held at the University of Texas last weekend, and EagleVision, the school's television program also picked up three awards

Our teachers are very talented and dedicated professionals, and they work diligently to improve their skills. Teachers attend weekly professional development to discuss curriculum, evaluate best teaching practices, and create common assessments in order to increase student achievement.
New Caney High School is committed to providing each student with an education in which essential information and skills are learned, knowledge is explored, and ideas are critically analyzed and evaluated.
